At the heart of Triratna is the Bodhisattva Ideal – the aspiration and heartfelt wish to benefit others and the commitment to act in ways that help all beings to thrive. Many of us in Triratna are engaged in this by sharing the Dharma at our city based Buddhist Centres, retreat centres and practice groups, as well as through our work and the way we live our lives.
Buddhist Action Month is an opportunity to reach out and engage with friends or local communities in ways that we may not be able to do for the most part during the year. ‘BAM’ is an invitation for one month to take part and get involved in actions that express our care and concern for our planet and our environment – for all living beings that exist on it – in a practical way.
Join us for BAM 2017 to help raise awareness, to share and discuss concerns, hopes and ideals, and to put into action concrete steps that help advance a positive vision for the future - whether within our local communities or the global community!
Last year the Auckland Buddhist Centre ran a tech recycling day, planted trees along the Whau river, collected much needed goods for the homeless and held a budding Bodhisattva day for the children of our Sangha.
We will launch our 2017 BAM on Dharma night 5 June.
