Buddhist Action Month (BAM) started in the UK in 2012 and has been spreading around the world ever since. This year’s theme is "The 21st century bodhisattva" and the Auckland Buddhist Centre is going to get involved. During previous BAMs Buddhists have organised themselves to pick up rubbish from the streets or beaches, plant native trees, promote the reduction of food waste, create community gardening projects and so on. You can find out more here. We’re looking for ideas as to what we could do as a community or individually during BAM this June. Should we dedicate our meditations to world peace, have a Dharma Night talk on Buddhism and climate change, buy a cycle rack for the Buddhist Centre? Your ideas are very welcome.
